Tata Steel appoints Nerukar’s successor

The Board of Tata Steel, on Thursday, appointed T V Narendran as Managing Director designate, India and South East Asia, inducting him into the board as an additional director. He willo succeed H M Nerurkar, the present Managing Director, who reaches superannuation on October 31, 2013.

Making this and other announcements on Thursday, Tata Steel said that the new leadership structure and a series of executive appointments were being made as part of its drive to accomplish its strategic business objectives.

Mr. Narendran is currently Vice President (Safety & Flat Products), Tata Steel. He joined the company after completing his MBA from IIM Calcutta in 1988. He takes charge on November 1, 2013.

The board has also appointed Koushik Chatterjee Executive Director and Group Chief Financial Officer as the Group Executive Director (Finance and Corporate).
