Printline Media gets funding

Printline Media, the venture founded by Shekhar Gupta, on Tuesday announced the conclusion of its first round of funding, with its investors including N.R. Narayana Murthy, Ratan Tata, Nandan Nilekani, the Uday Kotak family, and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw.

Other investors include Bangalore-based tech entrepreneur Rajiv C. Mody, Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma, LVMH Asia Chairman Ravi Thakran, IIFL founders Nirmal Jain, R. Venkatraman, Karan Bhagat and Yatin Shah.

“We at ThePrint are gratified that people of such eminence have backed this idea,” said Shekhar Gupta.

The venture will publish ThePrint, a multi-media, mostly digital news platform, the company said in a release. Pranab Dhal Samanta would be its editor, it said.
