Mercedes introduces CLA Class sedan

The company plans to introduce 15 new products in India this year and pump in Rs.150 crore for adding a new assembly line for its upcoming CLA sedan at the Chakan facility.

Mercedes-Benz, on Thursday, launched CLA Class sedan, priced in the range of Rs.31.50-35.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), as part of the luxury carmaker’s plans to introduce 15 new products in India this year.

“We are convinced that the CLA will firmly make its mark in India. We expect it to be one of the volume drivers and that is why we decided to produce the car in India,” Mercedes-Benz Managing Director and CEO Eberhard Kern said. The car will be available in diesel and petrol options in three variants. This is the sixth model along with the S, E, C, ML and GL classes to be rolled out of the company’s Chakan plant.

The company plans to introduce 15 new products in India this year and pump in Rs.150 crore for adding a new assembly line for its upcoming CLA sedan at the Chakan facility. Last year, it had launched ten new products in the country.
