Africa is the next frontier for the private equity players from Mauritius who are increasingly shifting their focus away from India. India, as a prioritised destination for investment, is a thing of the past, according to Shamima Mallam Hassam, Director, Board of Investment, Mauritius. “Over 60 per cent of the funds allocated for investment went to Africa in 2013. Africa is emerging as the potential market and obviously private equity is looking at it for the best returns,” she said on the sidelines of a CII meeting here.
