Linde India gets new MD

Linde India, erstwhile BOC, has appointed Moloy Banerjee as its new Managing Director. He succeeds S. K. Menon. Mr. Menon, who took charge in October 2008, will continue as Linde Group’s Managing Director for South Asia, being responsible for its business in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Profit before interest and exceptional items of the company dropped by 22 per cent from Rs.33.6 crore a year ago to Rs.26.3 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2013. The net profit declined from Rs.20.3 crore to Rs.5.9 crore now. Gross turnover, at Rs.349.6 crore, was just 4 per cent higher than the year-ago figure, mainly due to a 49 per cent drop in its engineering business.
