LG hikes price

June 18, 2013 12:02 am | Updated 12:02 am IST - NEW DELHI:

LG Electronics India, on Monday, said it had increased the prices of its home appliances by 3-5 per cent as the decline in rupee’s value had put pressure on costs.

“... due to continuous rupee depreciation, it has become imperative for us to consider price hike in India. Though we have been absorbing the increase in cost, it will become difficult to avoid this change in the market prices,” LG Electronics India Director-Home Appliances Y. V. Verma said in a statement here.

The new prices are applicable from June 17.
