Kemin Industries inc. engaged in the manufacture and distribution of speciality ingredients worldwide to the feed and food industries, has announced the commissioning of its expanded capacity at its Gummidipoondi facility near Chennai.
Besides the U.S., the company has manufacturing facilities in Belgium, Brazil, China, India, Italy, Singapore and South Africa.
Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, R. W. Nelson, Chairman, said the capacity of the Chennai plant, for turning out nutritional ingredients and organic minerals, had been doubled to 25,000 tonnes.
According to K. P. Philip, President and CEO, Kemin Industries South Asia, Kemin had been serving the Indian subcontinent with high quality products and superior technical service for over a decade and had introduced novel concepts to the industry in South Asia, including antioxidants, bio-surfactants, mold inhibitors, active microbials and enzymes.
Christopher Nelson, President, Kemin Industries, said the company had draw up five-year strategic growth plan which included significant investments throughout the world with a focus on expansions in the U.S., Belgium, Russia, India and China.
The company was catering to the needs of broiler, layer, dairy and aqua industries in South Asia, focusing on animal safety, health and performance, he said.
