India Yamaha Motor total sales up 44% in April

Two-wheeler maker Yamaha Motor India Sales (YMIS) on Wednesday reported 44.32 per cent increase in total sales for April at 52,792 units.

The company had sold a total of 36,581 units in the corresponding month last year, YMIS said in a statement.

In the domestic market, the company registered a rise of 33.34 per cent in its sales at 35,927 units compared to 26,944 units in the year-ago period, it added.

In the export markets, YMIS sold 16,865 units in April 2013 as against to 9,637 units in the same month last year, achieving a growth of 75 per cent.
