India Home Health Care (IHHC) will be tying up with Shri Ram New Horizons to train 6,000 health care professionals at ground level.
Talking to The Hindu , IHHC Founder and Director V. Thiyagarajan said “Shri Ram New Horizons is mandated by the Rural Development Ministry to train health care professionals at ground level. As we are planning to provide our service in 100 cities by 2018, we thought it fit to join hands with them.”
IHHC is also planning to set up training academies in all major cities. At present, IHHC serves 800 clients in nine cities through 11 centres. The plan is to enter Pune and Hyderabad next month and 14 more cities by 2015.
IHHC provides home nursing and healthcare for aged persons and chronically ill patients.
U.S.-based Bayada, the global home healthcare company, picked up 26 per cent stake in IHHC. Though the foreign partner had set aside funding of $10 million, Mr. Thiyagarajan and his co-promoter Sameer Mehta had utilised only $1 million.
“They are ready to take over our firm. But that would happen after three to five years. Meanwhile, we are looking at newer markets and are ready to extend our home care service to NRIs,” he said.
