The country’s largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp on Thursday announced its foray into Peru with the launch of the ‘Hero’ brand and its range of two-wheelers in the Latin American nation.
The company said it has appointed MOTOCORP SAC — a part of the EFE Group of Peru — as distributor to sell its two-wheelers in the country.
Commenting on the development, Hero MotoCorp Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer Pawan Munjal said: “Our new international markets will play a crucial role in the future as we move forward with the objective of surpassing 100 million units in cumulative sales by 2020. Peru, therefore, plays a significant role in our plans to expand our global footprint.”
The range of Hero two-wheelers which are now available in Peru include brands across segments — Pleasure, Passion Pro, Glamour, Hunk, Thriller, Karizma ZMR and Karizma R, the company said.
“We are confident our products will appeal to customers across a wide price spectrum and create a new benchmark for mass mobility in the continent,” Mr Munjal added.
As part of the Hero brand building initiatives in the local, the company will use the Spanish version of its ‘Hum Main Hai Hero’ campaign.
