Canadian smartphone maker BlackBerry launched its much awaited Q5 model — running on the latest BB10 operating system — on Tuesday, at a lower price in the Indian market.

The Q5, the third phone to be launched in India on the BB10 platform, will be available in select stores starting July 17 and across India starting July 20. The company, formerly known as Research In Motion (RIM), is targeting urban youth for the sales of this device.

The Q5 comes with a QWERTY keyboard along with a 3.1 inch touchscreen. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and will be available in red, black and white colour options.

“The BlackBerry Q5 smart phone has a youthful design. With its physical QWERTY keyboard and touch screen, it gives customers the best of both worlds,” Sunil Lalvani, Managing Director for India at BlackBerry told reporters here.
