Bajaj Auto on Monday launched two brand new motorcycles from its Discover stable — the Discover 150F (with large half fairing) and the Discover 150 S (with standard fairing).
A motorcycle fairing is a shell placed over the frame of some bikes to reduce air drag and protect the rider from airborne hazards. While the Discover 150F is priced at Rs.58,739, the Discover 150S has been priced at Rs.51,720 for the Drum variant and Rs.54,725 for the Disc variant (all prices ex-showroom Pune).
Speaking at the launch, Eric Vas, President, Motorcycle Business, Bajaj Auto, said the newly launched Discover 150 “breaks the monotony and drudgery of daily commute by providing the rider with a reserve of power to enjoy his ride. The new Discover 150 will appeal to those who value the time spent during their daily commute on their bikes.”
The new Discover 150 comes with a 4-valve, 145cc DTS-I engine and the company claims a mileage of 72 km per litre. It also comes with petal disc brakes, digital meter and DC bright lighting even at low speeds.
The bikes will be offered in four colours — dark blue, wine red, ebony black and dark bottle green.
The company had launched the Discover range a decade ago and had launched the Discover 150cc in 2010 and the new Discover 125 in March 2014. The 150F is expected to compete with industry peers such as Honda’s CB Unicorn, Hero Ignitor and the Yamaha FZ Series in the 150cc segment.
