Apple has reportedly sent media invites for its highly-anticipated iPad release, scheduled for October 22.

The next week’s event is expected to show the tech giant reveals a completely redesigned fifth-generation iPad as well as an updated iPad mini with the high-definition Retina display. According to Fox News,

Apple’s latest iPad is widely speculated to be smaller and thinner than the current-generation model, and will be seemingly redesigned to better match the look of the iPad mini, which is expected to have a faster A7 processor.

Other speculations also suggest that the latest iPad will have a Touch ID fingerprint scanner like the latest iPhone5.
