Amit Boni is GM India, Motorola

Motorola Mobility on Tuesday announced appointment of Amit Boni as General Manager of India.

In this role, he will lead the team across the country and be responsible for the Go-to-Market strategy.

“The India market is absolutely critical to Motorola and Amit's appointment into this role is testament to that,” said Magnus Ahlqvist, Corporate Vice-president, EMEA and APAC at Motorola Mobility.

This is the senior most post for the company in India.

On the appointment, Mr. Amit said, “I see tremendous opportunity for Motorola in India. My focus is now on growing the business, continuing to delight Indian consumers with our products and strengthening our customer support system further for all buyers in India. We are building the Motorola business for the long term and I’m excited about what the future holds.”

Mr. Amit’s first assignment was with Microland, Bangalore. After completing his MBA from MDI Gurgaon, he joined EVS and Honeywell from 2004 to 2010 his key responsibility in the organization was involved in work on strategic planning and strategic marketing, the company said in a statement.

In early 2010, Mr. Amit joined Motorola Mobility taking charge of GTM strategy and sales operations for the Asia region of Motorola, it added.
