CG Corp Global, an FMCG company from Nepal known for its Wai Wai noodles, has announced its India expansion with plans to set up Wai Wai City Noodle Bars across the country at an investment of ₹250 crore.

The company, which started its first outlet in New Delhi in 2016, has so far invested ₹50 crore in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) business.

‘Improved version’

“So far we have set up over 25 outlets in India and Nepal. It has been a great learning experience for us. Today we present an improved version of new offering,” said Varun Chaudhary, MD, Wai Wai City.

The plan is to have more than 500 outlets by the end of December 2020, he said.

“The start has been very exciting and encouraging. Our objective is to have between 300 and 350 outlets in India by the end of 2019,” said Pankaj Neeraj, CEO, Wai Wai City, at a briefing in Mumbai.

“These outlets, apart from offering delicious and standardised meals, also help the consumer experience noodles beyond regular recipes,” Binod Chaudhary, chairman, CG Group, said in a statement.
