Consumer inflation easesto 9.34 per cent

Inflation based on the consumer price index (base: 2001=100) for industrial workers (CPI-IW) fell marginally to 9.34 per cent in November. It was 9.39 per cent in October, according to the Labour Ministry data.

Meanwhile, inflation based on food index for industrial workers stood at 7.61 per cent in November, down from 8.72 per cent in October.

As per the data, the index increased by one point to 199 in November.

In November, the index recorded maximum increase of 12 points in Mysore, followed by five points each in Madurai and Puducherry, and by four points in Coimbatore.

The index decreased by five points in Lucknow, by four points in Faridabad, and by three points in four other centres. In 16 centres across the country, the index remained unchanged.
