January 05, 2014 06:03 pm | Updated May 13, 2016 07:19 am IST - chennai:

Pushpa Arabindoo trained in architecture and urban design before completing her Ph.D in Planning from the London School of Economics. She is a lecturer in Geography & Urban Design at the Department of Geography, University College London and a co-director of the UCL Urban Laboratory, in addition to being one of the editors at the CITY Journal. Her research involves ethnographic investigation of urban transformation in the Indian city of Chennai, ranging from slum evictions and middle-class activism to ecological imaginations and processes of architectural production.

Pushpa has also been probing the inter-disciplinary nature of urban studies and its tenuous link with allied disciplines from the arts, humanities and engineering through her engagement with the MSc Urban Studies programme at UCL.
