Jugaad Company, a recently-formed theatre company, presents Chapter Two, a comedy based on Simon’s coming to terms with the death of his wife. The play has been adapted to an Indian setting with Indian names for the characters, director Anna Thomas says, “The story revolves around two characters: a widower and a recently-divorced lady whose worlds collide.”

The sets have incorporated colour and design to depict the different natures of the characters. “Raaga is a lively person and her house is full of bright colours whereas Aditya’s house is plainer with muted colours,” she says.

Anna adds that the play has a deeper sub-text on the nature of relationships and what it means to us. Chapter Two is Jugaad Company’s maiden venture, but Anna and her husband Jimmy Xavier, who founded the company have been involved with theatre for many years. The cast includes Jimmy Xavier, Noel Manasseh, Kalyani Kumar and Prarthana.

Chapter Two will be staged on November 13 and 14 at 7.30 p.m. at Ranga Shankara. For tickets visit indianstage.in or bookmyshow.com
