Aandava Perumal
What it is about…
Parasakthi Cinemas’ Aandava Perumal is about various incidents in the life of a jobless youth in search of work. How he falls in love, and how the problems that arise as a consequence are solved, make an interesting tale.
The audio of the film was released by Abirami Ramanathan and the first copy was received by actor Prasanth and producer Hansraj Saxena in the presence of actor Ramesh Kanna and members of the film unit. Produced by R.Jana, the film is directed by Priyan, who has also taken care of the story, screenplay, dialogue and editing.
The lead players are Sivan and Ankitha. ‘Lollusabha’ Jeeva, Sasi, Manimaran, ‘Pasanga’ Sivakumar, Bavalakshman and Geetha Satheesh comprise the rest of the cast. The camera is handled by Robin N.Samuvel, the stunts by Shankar, the choreography by Satheesh, art by Nandagopal, and the music by Ravichandran.
Music highlights
There are five numbers in the album. The first one ‘Eppadi Eppadi’, sung by Rahul Nambiyar and Revathy, and written by Viveka, is excellent and is repeated as the last number too. ‘Kathalathan Solla’, written by S.Ilayaraja, and sung by Velmurugan, is lively, while ‘Kanne en Kanmaniye’, written by B.K. Rajasekar and sung by Sathish and Ravichandran, makes an impact. The other song by the same lyricist, ‘Edhudhan Kadhal’, sung by the music director and Revathy, just about makes the grade.
What they say…
Producer R.Jana
Sivan, who plays the hero in Aandava Perumal, is my brother. I was impressed with his performance in Koti and Vijayanagaram . I liked the story and the title of Aandava… , as I am a Perumal devotee. I have only seen one of the song sequences and the trailer, but feel my brother has done a great job.
Director Priyan
As an editor, I worked under B.Lenin for three years, taking care of the editing of some of his Malaysian films. I have also worked as an associate under some directors and this is my first feature film.
Hero Sivan
After Koti and Vijayanagaram , Aandava Perumal is my third film. It has the right dose of love, family sentiment, enmity and friendship to make it appeal to the audience.
The climax is the best part, as it is sure to spur the audience to ponder about the story.
Music Director Ravichandran
I am a keyboardist and singer. I’ve worked with music director Bala Bharathi and ‘Vandemataram’ Srinivas. I’ve done a dozen jingles and worked for some Malaysian television programmes. I have also performed live on stage with the light music troupe ‘Sadagaparavaigal’.
I was delighted when asked to score the music for Aandava Permual and believe I’ve lived up to the expectations of my director and producer.
