The Indian Boxing Federation (IBF) on Thursday announced a formidable 10-member team for the upcoming AIBA World championship, to be held at Baku, Azerbaijan, from September 22 to October 10.
The selection trials had a few upsets because of keen competition in several categories.
National youth champion L. Devendro Singh, who stunned Asian championship silver medallist Amandeep Singh and former World youth winner Nanao Singh in the 49kg, emerged as the biggest surprise.

The Indian team will proceed to France for a training camp from September 10 to 21 prior to the World championship.
Top ten boxers in each weight category will qualify for the Olympics.
However, in heavy and super heavy weights qualification berths will be limited to six.
