Wall collapse: death toll rises to 10

One more labourer died, taking the death toll in the wall collapse at an educational institution in Kunnam to 10. Bykhan (alias) Bishal succumbed to his injuries at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (GH) on Monday night.

The Sunguvarchatram police took three persons into custody — contractor Rajkumar of Nagercoil, manpower supplier Arul Jaya Rose of Periyakadu, Kanyakumari district, and local construction supervisor Sadharsan of Kunnam village — in connection with the accident.

Nine construction workers died and three others sustained injuries on Monday after an under-construction wall collapsed at Jeppiaar Institute of Technology, Jeppiaar Nagar in Kunnam village.
