To appreciate the students who won placements in different companies, the Manakula Vinayagar Institute of Technology in Puducherry organised a programme ‘Fruition 15’. A total of 344 students were placed in organisations like Tata Consultancy Services, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Wipro, L&T Infotech, CSS Corp, Congruent Solutions, Sutherland, Prodapt, Symantec, MBit, NTT DATA, Bussmann by Eaton and others. Vignesh Rangasamy, Regional Head, Talent Acquisition, TCS, Chennai, advised the students to keep themselves updated on technological advancements, and to always be keen to learn. Giving offer letters, he told the students to keep themselves employable and to never be afraid of failures. Sri Manakula Vinayaga Educational Trust Chairman M. Dhanasekaran asked students to set long and short-term goals. The programme was also attended by Vice Chairman S.V. Sugumaran, Secretary K. Narayanasamy and college principal S. Malarkkan.

‘Develop soft skills’

Asking students to go beyond their curriculum and develop soft skills, M. Ponnuswami, Chairman and Managing Director, Pon Pure Chem Ltd., conferred degrees on students at the Graduation Day ceremony of the CK College of Engineering and Technology, Cuddalore. CK Ranganathan, chairman of the college, presented medals to Anna University rank holders. A total of 225 undergraduate and 50 postgraduate students received their degree. Principal Arun V. Parwate presented the Graduation Day report. CK Ashok Kumar, Trustee, Sri Jayaram Educational Trust, CK Rajkumar, T.D. Mohan JMD Cavinkare (P) Ltd., and D. Chandrasekaran, Director, CK Group of Educational Institutions were present at the programme.

Scientific temper on display

Students got a chance to display their scientific temper at the internal project expo organised recently at the IFET College of Engineering, Villupuram, for first year students. While 177 innovative projects were displayed, 8 of them were selected as the best and students received awards for them. College Chairman K. V. Raja, Vice Chairman A. Mohammed Ilyas, Secretary K.
