Awareness campaign

To ensure 100 per cent polling in all the six Assembly constituencies in the district, a campaign to create awareness among the electors on the need to cast their vote has begun.

Stickers were pasted in buses, mini buses, autorickshaws and packaged drinking water cans.

District Election Officer V. Dakshinamoorthy inaugurated the campaign by pasting stickers in vehicles in bus stand premises.

The stickers with polling date as May 16 printed on it would reach the electors. Collector said that the public transport vehicles would reach most of the villages in the district and ensure 100 per cent polling. Likewise, stickers were pasted in packaged drinking water cans at a private water bottling plant in Paramathi Velur. Returning Officer Namakkal Assembly constituency M. Kannan; Returning Officer for Paramathi Velur Assembly constituency N. Ramakrishnan; District Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Officer Kavikumar; Namakkal Municipal Commissioner Senthil Murugan; and revenue officials were present.
