The police unearthed 13 crude bombs at Thalassery during a raid on Tuesday.

The police said the country-made bombs were seized from Arakkamukku in the Temple Gate area at Thalassery during the raid. The seized explosives included 10 icecream pots filled with explosives and three steel bombs made of steel containers.

The crude bombs were found in a plastic bag hidden beneath undergrowth in a field.

The raid was conducted with the help of the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad of the district police.

The police said the raid was conducted as part of security arrangements ahead of the annual festival of the Jagannatha temple in the area.
