A group of Hindu right-wing activists staged a ‘namajapom’ protest on Monday, outside the residence of Bindu Hariharan, who attempted to worship at the Sabarimala temple. Police personnel are stationed there now as a precautionary measure.

The activists sat on the cut road leading to the house for a couple of hours and chanted ‘namajapom.’ A couple of BJP leaders too were spotted among the protesters.

Crowd disperses

However, when it was announced that Bindu and Kanakadurga from Malappuram could not worshipat Sabarimala and were returning, the protesters dispersed.

Bindu is working with the School of Legal Studies of the Kannur University at Palayad near Thalassery.
