Mata to open Cherukolpuzha Hindu meet centenary fete

The Ayroor-Cherukolpuzha Hindumatha Maha Mandalam (HMM) is to celebrate the centenary of the annual Hindu religious meet as part of the 100th annual event to be held on the sandbed of river Pampa at Cherukolpuzha near Kozhencherry from February 5 to 12.

This was announced by the HMM president, T.N.Upendranatha Kurup, accompanied by the mandalam leaders, M.P.Sasidharan Pillai, T.N.Rajashekharan Pillai, A.G.Hariharan Nair and P.S.Nair, at a press conference here on Monday.

Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Renowned spiritual leader, will inaugurate the centenary meet at a ceremonial function to be held ata specially prepared pandal on the sprawling sandbed of Pampa at 3 pm on February 5. Ashok Singhal, Viswa Hindu Parishad national president, will preside over the inaugural function.

O.Rajagopal, former Union Minister, will deliver the keynote address and Swami Sivananda of Sringeri Madhom will deliver a religious discourse. Mr N.K.Premachandran, former Water Resources Minister, Prof P.J.Kurien, Rajya Sabha member; K.Sivadasan Nair, MLA; Mr Upendranatha Kurup and Hariharan Nair will also address the function.

Cultural meet

Health Minister, Adoor Prakash, will inaugurate the cultural meet to be held on February 6 afternoon. Mr K.Jayakumar, Additional Chief Secretary, will preside over the function and Swami Abhayananda Theerthapada of Theerthapada Ashram at Kadakkachira near Kottayam will deliver the benedictory speech.

Dr B.Padmakumar, Associate Professor at Government Medical Colelge, Alappuzha; Swami Vedananda Saraswti of Peruva Gitananda Ashram; Swami Ayyappadas, Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samajom president Swami Prabhakarananda Saraswati, Kerala Sanyasi Sabha convener, will also address the meet. Swami Satchidananda of Chalakkudy Gayatri Ashram and L.Gireeshkumar of Irinjalakkuda Tantric Vidyapeeth will deliver religious discourses, later, in the evening.

Renowned religious scholar, Prema Pandranga, will deliver a discourse at 2.30 pm on February 7. Swami Adhyatmananda Saraswati of Sambodh Foundation attached to Bodhananda Kendra in Thiruvananthapuram and Kummanam Rajashekharan, will deliver religious discourses, later, at the evening session.

Youth meet

Dr Vivek Arya, All-India Vedic Mission president, will inaugurate the youth meet to be held on February 8 afternoon. P.N.Suresh, Kerala Kalamandalam vice-chancellor, will preside over the meet.

Dr T.V.Muraleevallabhan of NSS College at Vazhoor; Ka Bha Suresndran, Bharatiya Vichara Kendram secretary; Prof J.Nandakumar, editor of Kesari, Raju Abraham, MLA, Kprasannakumar,Kerala Basava Sabha president and Konniyoor P.K, All-Kerala Sambava Maha Sabha president, will also address the meet.

Dr N.Gopalakrishnan, director of Indian Institute of Scientific Heritage, will deliver a discourse, later, at the evening session.

Ayyappa Bhakta Sammelan

Swami Jayendra Saraswati, Pontiff of Kanchi Kamakoti Peedhom, will deliver the benedictory address at the Ayyappa Bhakta Sammelan to be held on February 9 afternoon. Mr V.S.Sivakumar, Devaswom Minister, will inaugurate the meet and Mr P.Venugopal, District Collector, will deliver the kynote address.

Mr T.V.Chandramohan, Guruvayur Devaswom chairman, will also address the meet.

Swami Chidanandapuri of Kulathoor Advaita Ashram and Ms K.P.Sasikala, Hindu Aikyavedi president, will address the evening session.

Commemoration meet

Swami Rithambarananda of Sivagiri Madhom will inaugurate the Vidyadhiraja Chattampi Swami commemoration meet to be held on February 10 afternoon. R.Ramachandran nair, former Chief Secretary will preside over the function and Dr Philipose Mar Chrysostum, senior Metropolitan of Mar Thoma Church, will deliver the benedictory speech.

Swami Sivananda Saraswati of Palakkad Sivananda Ashram and Swami Garudadhwajananda of Vazhoor Theerthapada Ashram will deliver religious discourses.

Swami Udit Chaitanya, renowned Bhagavathom exponent, will deliver a religious discourse, later, in the evening.

Women’s meet

Pankaj Behan of Brahmakumari’s Eeswariya Vidyalaya at Kottayam will inaugurate the women’s meet on February 11 afternoon. K.Chandrika, Thiruvananthapuram Mayor, will preside over the meet and Swamini Apporvananda of Chinmaya Mission, Kozhikode, will deliver the keynote address.

Swami Bodhinatha Velan from Huawei islands in the United States will deliver the keynote address, later, in the evening.

Prof T.G.Purushothaman Nair, president of All-Kerala Hindu Religious Teachers’ Guild, will preside over the religious schools’ meet on February 12 forenoon. P.G.M.Nair, director of Bharatiya Padhana Kendram in Thiruvananthapuram, will inaugurate the meet.

CM to open valedictory meet

Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, will inaugurate the valedictory meet to be held, later, in the afternoon.

Mr T.K.A.Nair, advisor to Prime Minister, will preside over the valedictory function Swami Sivacharya of Saralabalu Madhom in Chitradurga in Karnataka, will deliver the centenary message and P.Parameswaran, Bharatiya Vichara Kendram president, will deliver the keynote address.

The Tirumala Devaswom president, Vappiraj, will also address the function.

The week-long religious event will come to a close with the Sarvaiswaryapuja led by Swami Poornamrutananda Puri of Mata Amritanandamayi Madhom, later, in the evening.
