Hosdurg (Kanhangad) educational sub-district continued to maintain its traditional upper hand by scoring 636 points on the penultimate day of the revenue district school art festival that is under way at the Chemnad Jama-at Higher Secondary School, near here. Kasaragod scored 599 points.
Cheruvathur with 538 points is in the third spot while Bekal with 531 points is close behind.

Hosdurg has bagged 264 points in 64 of the 86 events in the high school (HS) category and 277 in the higher secondary (HSS) category in 65 of the 95 events. It, however, is in the fourth spot in the UP category with 95 points when results of 26 of the 37 events were announced on Wednesday evening.
Kasaragod sub-district has scored 246 points in HS category, 241 in HSS, and is leading in the UP category with 112 points. Cheruvathur has scored 203 points in HS category, 233 in HSS, and 102 in UP category. Bekal has 209 points in HS category, 221 in HSS, and is in the second spot in the UP category with 110 points. The festival venues witnessed a heavy turnout of art lovers. People thronged the venues staging popular events such as Kuchipudi, Bharathanatyam, Oppana, Mappilapattu, Vattapattu, recitation, instrumental music, and drama.
