Thousands throng rituals at Thodupuzha

Thousands of people thronged at the venue of the second International Sreemad Ayyappa Sathram which began at Thodupuzha on Wednesday. The programme began with the Ganapathy homam by Sabarimala priest Kandaru Rajeevarau at 5 a.m.

The idol procession which reached the venue covering a large area through the road was received at the venue in the morning. The highlight of the event included the arrival of kodimara procession from Sree Darma Sastha temple at Chalangod, the kalavaranirckal procession from the Sree Darma Sastha temple at Thekkumbhagam and the kodikoora procession from the Sree Darma Sastha temple at Arakkulam.

A large number of devotees from outside the State also attended the Ganapathi homam and other rituals held as part of the event. The Ayyappa Sathram will end on December 28 and various traditional and cultural programmes and religious discourses will be held as part of it, which aimed rekindling the spirit of true devotion, unity and brotherhood.
