The final polling figures in the five Assembly segments of Aranmula, Thiruvalla, Ranni, Konni and Adoor has put the polling percentage in Pathanamthitta district at 71.66.
The polling percentage has registered an increase of 3.44 per cent compared to the same figure in 2011, when there was 68.22 per cent votes polled.
Civic polls
As compared to the 72.8 per cent polling during the 2015 civic polls, the polling has seen a dip.
On Monday, as many as 7,34,600 voters exercised their right to franchise in the district and of them, 390,600 were women.
The district has 10,25,172 voters and 5,43,163 of them are women. Electorate-wise, Aranmula, with 2,26,324 eligible voters is the largest Assembly constituency in the State. As per the official data, 1,60,605 voters, 85,989 of them women, exercised their right to franchise there.
However, Adoor with 74.52 per cent polling has been identified as the constituency with the highest polling percentage in the district.
A total of 1,54,033 persons, 83,969 of them women, exercised their right to franchise.
Konni with 73.19 per cent polling stood second in terms of polling percentage in the district.
A total of 1,42,526 electorates cast their vote in Konni and of them 76,683 were women.
Thiruvalla
Thiruvalla with 69.29 per cent polling has been identified as the constituency with the lowest polling percentage in the district.
A total of 1,43,994 persons, 75,219 of them women, exercised their right to franchise in Thiruvalla.
Ranni with 1,89,610 electorates is the constituency with the lowest number of voters in the district. As many as 1,33,442 persons, 68,740 of them women, have exercised their franchise in Ranni, leaving the polling percentage in the constituency at 70.38.
