With thousands of motorcyclists arriving from all parts of the State for the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Parivarthana Yatra, commuters were stranded for hours on the busy Tumakuru Road.
Two ambulances were also caught in tarffic as the roads from Nelamangala to Goraguntepalya, right up to Yeshwantpur, saw vehicles moving at a snail’s pace.
Police criticised
Motorists, who could not turn back as no alternative routes had been planned, criticised the traffic police for the mismanagement, and political parties for holding rallies without a thought for the inconvenience caused. “We were stuck in the jam for over two hours without alternative routes. It should have been planned better,” said Ravi Chandra, a businessman from Banashankari, who was returning from Tumakuru after visiting relatives.
