Speaker lands in Mangalore

Speaker K.G. Bopaiah landed at the Mangalore International Airport on Friday and headed towards an undisclosed destination. He landed at the airport at 7.40 p.m. by a Jet Airways flight from Mumbai.

After coming out of the airport, Mr. Bopaiah rushed towards a waiting tourist vehicle. He refused to talk with waiting television journalists and went away in the vehicle.

K. Monappa Bhandary, MLC and spokesperson of Dakshina Kannada unit of the BJP, said he was not aware of Mr. Bopaiah’s arrival. It could be his private visit, he said. Other BJP leaders said that they were not aware about his visit.

The police said there was no official communication about Mr. Bopaiah’s arrival to the city. They did not have any information on the whereabouts of Mr. Bopaiah.
