The 111-year-old seer of Siddaganga mutt, Dr. Shivakumara Swami, who is on ventilation support, was shifted to Siddaganga mutt from Siddaganga hospital in Tumakuru early on Wednesday morning.

He is being treated for a lung infection which he developed after undergoing a liver bypass. The seer’s personal physician, Dr. Paramesh, said he was transferred back to mutt at his request around 3.45 a.m.

"All the necessary arrangements required to continue his treatment have been made at the mutt," said Dr. Paramesh.

Around a hundred police personnel have been deployed at the mutt. Former Prime Minister H.D. Devegowda and other political leaders are expected to visit the seer later in the day.

The scion of the erstwhile Mysuru royal family, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, paid visit to the seer at the mutt.

Speaking to reporters on the premises of the mutt, Mr Yaduveer said that the seer was healthy and added that he would pray Goddess Chamundeshwari for his well-being.
