IRNSS 1D, a navigation satellite developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), is planned for launch on March 15, said ISRO Satellite Centre Director S.K. Shivakumar.
He said the GPS-Aided Geo Augmented Navigation (GAGAN) system has also become operational. The system is a pioneering effort for the application in aviation sector.
IRNSS 1D is the fourth in the series of seven satellites planned for launch by ISRO for setting in motion the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS).
