The State Cabinet on Thursday rejected the final list announced by the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) on March 21 for the 362 posts of gazetted probationer, Group A and B, belonging to the 2011 batch.
The list was rejected following rampant corruption in the selection of candidates. The government has filed criminal cases against KPSC members.
The Criminal Investigation Department has conducted a probe and submitted a report to the Government highlighting malpractices in the examination system conducted by the KPSC.
A Cabinet meeting presided by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had discussed the list submitted to the government by the KPSC in detail and rejected it in toto.
The Karnataka Administrative Tribunal (KAT) on July 2 vacated the stay on the final list announced by the KPSC.
Briefing on the Cabinet decisions, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T.B. Jayachandra said all candidates appeared for the examination would be permitted to write the examination again. The government would grant age relaxation to all candidates.
Over one lakh candidates wrote the examination about three years ago.
