Several parts of Belur taluk, including Halebid, received heavy rain on Friday afternoon.
The much-needed showers resulted in roads getting inundated and several trees getting uprooted. A few shops and houses in low-lying areas too were flooded.
The rain, which commenced at 1 p.m., continued for an hour. Roads in Halebid too were inundated.
Shops on either side of NH 234 in Halebid were flooded.
The Nada Kacheri (revenue office) was also flooded, leaving the staff inside in a quandary. The staff were seen struggling to protect the files and other documents.
