Shivakumaraiah, said to be the kingpin in the PU paper leak scam, has been arrested by the CID on Monday.

Shivakumaraiah, the kingpin of Pre-University paper leak, was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), from an under-construction building at Garvebavipalya here on Monday night.

The CID has already invoked the draconian Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act against him.

CID DGP Kishore Chandra said they were on the lookout for the accused’s son Dinesh and relative Kiran. He said that investigation had revealed that Shivakumaraiah was responsible for the Chemistry paper leak on March 21 and 31. The CID was also probing if the other papers of second PU examination were also leaked.

Mr. Kishore Chandra claimed that even on the run, Shivakumaraiah was trying to leak the CET paper. “This has now been prevented with his arrest,” he said.
