He was addressing at a press conference after attending a meeting here on Saturday. Mr. Priyank Kharge said that Rs. 50 crore would be earmarked to develop historic and religious monuments in the region.

Rebutting the allegation that he was inducted into the Council of Ministers at the behest of his father and senior Congress leader M. Mallikarjun Kharge, Mr. Priyak Kharge said that everybody was thinking that he became a Minister through the “management quota” though belonged to the “merit quota”. He made it clear that he was neither a competitor to A.B. Maalakaraddi nor would pose a danger to him. The party high command and Mr. Mallikarjun Kharge would solve the problems, if any, Mr. Priyank Kharge added.
