People's Democratic Party (PDP) chairman Abdul Nasir Maudany, accused in the 2008 Bangalore serial blasts case, was questioned by senior police officers here at an undisclosed location on Wednesday.

The police said Mr. Maudany, arrested at Anwarssery in Kerala on Tuesday, was in good health and they were keeping a close watch on his medical condition. A team of doctors was kept ready.

Police sources told TheHindu that Mr. Maudany was questioned by Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Alok Kumar and other police officers.

Mr. Maudany has been charged with murder, waging war against the state and carrying on other unlawful acts. He has categorically denied his involvement in the blasts, the sources said.

He is the 31st accused in the charge sheet that was filed before a court here in connection with the blasts that rocked the city on July 25, 2008.

The police had secured his custody till August 26.

Mr. Maudany has been allowed to perform his Ramzan prayers and other religious activities. “We have provided him with a mat to perform namaz. We will also give him dry fruits, milk and fruit juices to facilitate fasting,” a police officer said.
