The Crime Branch of the Goa police is likely to file the chargesheet in the Tarun Tejpal Tehelka journalist sexual assault case by month-end. Mr. Tejpal is now in judicial custody at the Sada sub-jail in Vasco in south Goa.
The son of a leading playwright from the south will arrive from Bangalore to depose before Judicial Magistrate’s Court on January 15. He was present at the ThinkFest event of the Tehelka magazine in Goa during which the alleged incident happened. .
Already the Crime Branch early this week contacted Hollywood star Robert De Niro through his attorney and sent a questionnaire seeking to corroborate certain statements made by accused as well as the victim in the case.
The next hearing of Mr. Tejpal’s bail application will be on Friday.
