The parents of a 22-year-old girl, who was booked for posting allegedly abusive comments on Facebook, on Tuesday said she was anguished at the police not taking concrete action following the theft of her vehicle, even as the Chandigarh administration said it was taking a lenient view.
“She is a young girl who lost the vehicle. Depending on the situation, we will take a balanced view, I will say a lenient view,” Home Secretary Anil Kumar told reporters here.
Heena Bakshi, a PG student, who claims to be a winner of the Geeta Chopra bravery award a decade ago for nabbing a burglar, was booked on Friday for posting allegedly abusive comments on the Facebook page of the Traffic Police.
