Passers-by click pictures instead of helping the victim

February 03, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - KURNOOL:

The limbs of a 60-year-old man, Ramaiah, were badly crushed under an APSRTC bus that was bound to Allagadda in Kurnool district from Nandyal on Tuesday. He slipped and fell while boarding the bus at Nandyal bus stand.

The grievously wounded man, who lied in a pool of blood, raised his hands and cried for help, but neither the RTC staff nor passengers and onlookers tried to pull him out from underthe bus ( No. AP21 TA 0446). Some passersby were engrossed in clicking photographs on their mobile phones, until the 108 ambulance arrived at the spot an hour later.

The ambulance staff shifted him to the Nandyal government hospital where he succumbed to injuries on Tuesday. The police had registered a case.
