In a bid to ensure accountability and redress electricity complaints within 24 hours, a unique online facility is being launched in Andhra Pradesh from August 15. Conceived by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu himself, the online facility is aimed at solving the problems faced by people on the electricity front. The Chief Minister made suggestions on the initiative to officials on Saturday and wanted them to make a power point presentation to him on the concept in two days.

Toll free number

In case a transformer becomes faulty or if there is no quality power, the consumer can make a call to APTRANSCO’s toll free number-180042555333. The recorded complaint would be immediately transmitted to the staff concerned and required action would be taken.

The complaint would be closed only after the officials telephone to the consumer and ascertain if problem was rectified and power was being supplied properly.

Shifting of data centre

The officials suggested shifting of data centre from Hyderabad to Tirupati. Similarly, the suggestion to set up disaster recovery centre at Visakhapatnam was accepted.
