The Association of Event Organisers (AEO), a newly-formed organisation will conduct a 5-day Horticulture and Agriculture Show at the People's Plaza here, beginning Wednesday.
At a press conference here on Tuesday, Khalid Ahmed of AEO said that ever since Government gave up its practice of organising such annual events in 2011, there was a vacuum, especially with people living in the Twin Cities regretting that there were no nurseries in the city.
"We aim to fill up the vacuum that existed from 2011, till now. We have received registrations from about 70 nurseries and related establishments tor putting up stalls at our 5-day show that will be on from 10 a.m. till 8 p.m. Of special focus would be the stalls from growers of organic food, apart from a special space devoted to women," he said.
Nurseries from Pune Mumbai, Bengaluru, Tirupati, Kadiyam (Rajahmundry) and Darjeeling will be showcasing their produce at this event. Alongwith the stalls that would show their produce and technologies, seminars will also be held simultaneously, Mr. Khalid Ahmed said.
