The Andhra Pradesh government on Sunday night said that the voice on the tapes aired on a Telugu television channel was not that of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Communications Adviser to the A.P. government Parakala Prabhakar, at a hurriedly convened press conference, said the Chief Minister did not have any such conversation. He suspected that the tapes were doctored by interspersing the voice of Mr. Naidu from various occasions. He said the State government was viewing the development very seriously and would take the issue to its logical end legally, constitutionally and politically.
Mr. Prabhakar said the attempt was aimed at defaming the Chief Minister and the TDP government. He alleged that it was a conspiracyand wanted the Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to reply. “If as claimed by the TRS government that it was evidence, it should have been placed before the court,” he said.
Government will take the issue to its logical end legally, constitutionally and politically. Parakala Prabhakar, Communications Adviser to the A.P.
