Trader held in raid on godown

Following detection of huge haul of explosive material stored illegally in a godown at Devangula Veedhi in Bobbili, the police stepped up vigil on illegal trading of explosives, said Bobbili Deputy Superintendent of Police B. V. Ramana Murty on Saturday.

The police on suspicion conducted a raid on the godown belonging to Gembali Srinivasa Rao, a trader in sulphur and other chemicals in Bobbili, and detected huge quantity of explosive material. The police arrested him on Friday night and remanded him to judicial custody on Saturday.

The police registered a case under Explosives Act and started investigation.
