Film actor Pranitha Subhash of Attarintiki Daredi fame escaped unhurt in a road accident when an SUV she was travelling in skidded off the road and overturned near Mothey on the Suryapet-Khammam road in Nalgonda district on Sunday afternoon. The police said she was saved because she wore the seatbelt.

She was on her way back to Hyderabad after inaugurating a cloth showroom in Khammam in the morning. A police officer said that Pranitha’s make-up man P. Rameshbabu suffered a fracture on the left shoulder and her hairstylist D. Soubhagyalakshmi, was severely injured in the right shoulder. Both were rushed to Suryapet Area Hospital.

Besides Pranitha, her driver and manager escaped unhurt. Later, Pranitha boarded a mini bus that was following her SUV. The organisers of the showroom inauguration event had sent a group of bouncers to provide security to the programme in the mini bus. An hour after the incident, Pranitha tweeted on her twitter handle @pranitasubhash posting the pictures of accident scene informing that the mishap occurred on her way back from Khammam. In another tweet, Pranitha thanked some engineering staff working nearby for responding swiftly in informing the 108 Ambulance. Responding to a comment posted by actor Vennela Kishore, Ms. Pranitha tweeted she was perfectly all right.

She also posted a couple of pictures of her travelling in bouncers’ vehicle to reach Hyderabad to inform her friends and kin that she was safe. Later, she boarded a flight at Shamshabad Airport and flew to Bengaluru. The police said that the vehicle was going at a breakneck speed. It ran off the road when the driver made an attempt to avoid a two-wheeler from hitting. Underlining the importance of wearing seatbelt, actor Manchu Vishu tweeted that he was relieved after talking to Pranitha over the phone. "She was safe because she was wearing seatbelt. Hope many of us learn from this,” he said. A case was registered by Mothey police.
