The Delhi High Court on Monday issued notice to the Delhi Police on two applications seeking interim as well as regular bail by cash-for-vote case accused Amar Singh.

“Condition grave”

The Court refused to take up his interim bail application for hearing on Wednesday, as requested by his counsel Dinesh Mathur, who submitted that his medical condition was grave.

Justice Ajit Bharihoke asked the police to file a status report in reply to the two bail applications within three days. The Court will take both applications for hearing on October 12.

As Mr. Singh, now under judicial custody, has been admitted in the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences, it asked AIIMS to file a medical report on the condition of Mr. Singh.

Last week, a special court for CBI cases had dismissed Mr. Singh's plea for regular bail application, saying the cash-for-vote scandal was an attempt to “subvert the functioning of Parliament and mock the Republic of India.”
