The auditing process of votes cast in Afghan presidential elections was once again postponed on Saturday.

According to Election Commission officials, a fresh round of the audit was scheduled to resume on Saturday, Xinhua reported.

However, the officials believe that the process would resume within the next 24 hours.

The electoral team of presidential candidate Abdullah Abdullah did not attend the audit process on Saturday.

A statement released by Mr. Abdullah’s team pointed out that their observers won’t attend the audit process until negotiations with the UN and concerned parties are concluded.

This is the fourth time since the beginning of recounting votes on July 17 that audit process of votes cast in Afghan presidential elections has been suspended.
