Case registered against Tehelka

A case has been filed against the news magazine Tehelka on charge of promoting enmity between groups for its cover story portraying the late Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray as a terrorist.

Confirming the news to The Hindu , Joint Commissioner of Mumbai Police (Law and Order) Deven Bharti said: “Yes, we have registered an offence against Tehelka magazine at Azad Maidan police station.”

Sources said the case was registered on the complaint of a Shiv Sena activist on Monday evening. The accused include the Editor of the magazine. The magazine also published the photograph of Thackeray along with those of Yakub Memon, Dawood Ibrahim and Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
