: The Supreme Court’s order on Monday, in connection with a PIL filed on the missing whistle-blower, has given some hope to his family members.
Sunil Upadhyay, an official of Indian Musem, Kolkata, disappeared from his rented apartment in Kolkata in July 2014.
Speaking to The Hindu on Monday, Anil Upadhyay, the elder brother of Sunil, said that the Apex Court has ordered Damayanti Sen, Special Inspector General, Criminal Investigation Department, West Bengal Police, to personally supervise the investigation. Ms Sen is known for cracking the Park Street gang-rape case.
Anirudh Sharma, the counsel appearing for the family members of the whistle-blower told The Hindu that the Supreme Court has directed the Ministry of Culture to file the status report on the functioning of Indian Museum.
